All receivers play offense because they want the football they want the ball from the quarterback. You would love for the offensive passing plays to be designed to get you more targets. So let's discuss one thing you have to do during the play to get open.

Improve Your Speed
DBs will not back down from the challenge but would rather cover someone that doesn't threaten them with elite speed.
When you have speed you can create a little anxiety because the defensive backs cushion can be challenged quicker than expected. When a player on defense can have a comfortable cushion, they will grow in confidence mentally. You as a receiver have options when you can work the player covering you with speed to out run them or make the individual panic enough you keep extra space, then break out of routes as well.
My suggestion to you is to take the offseason work serious. Build your speed, acceleration and twitch. Wide Receivers come in all shapes, height, weight and skill sets. It sure would help if you were a bit faster in your routes. It helps with the timing of the offense.
